Do I need a commercial invoice for personal shipments?
Couriers still ask for a commercial invoice or equivalent on most international personal shipments. Postal packets under 2 kg often use CN22. The destination post or courier decides what they accept.
CN22 vs CN23 — what’s the difference?
CN22 is the simplified postal declaration for packets up to 2 kg. CN23 is the fuller postal form when the parcel is over 2 kg or more detail is required. UPS, FedEx, and DHL typically want a commercial invoice instead.
What happens if my invoice values don’t match?
Customs can delay, inspect, revalue, or refuse a shipment when declared value, payment records, and goods do not line up. Use the same figures as the supplier invoice and the duty estimator.
Do UPS/FedEx use these or their own forms?
Those carriers often generate electronic commercial invoices inside the shipping account. This PDF is a layout-correct backup, not a substitute for required electronic filing.
