FedEx DIM Weight Calculator (2026): Divisor, Rules & Rounding
US domestic FedEx Ground-style DIM model only. International Express 139-vs-166 claims are not copied here without a named FedEx guide cell.
FedEx DIM at a glance
- Modeled divisor 139 (in³ ÷ 139). Same module as the master DIM tool.
- No separate FedEx Ground volume threshold is stored in config — needs verification. Do not assume a 1 cu ft skip.
- Rounding in the engine: ceil each inch, then ceil(volume ÷ 139). FedEx PDF not independently verified.
- No Last-verified stamp for FedEx DIM dollars or gates. UPS Daily 139 was checked 7 September 2026 and is the model source. See changelog.

When FedEx actually bills DIM
This page does not invent a FedEx Ground cubic-foot trigger. The shared engine bills max(actual, DIM) using 139 after ceiling each side. If your FedEx invoice skips DIM under a volume cut, that cut is not in DimMath config yet — flag it rather than guess.
UPS Daily DIM → is documented from the 7 Sep 2026 Daily guide (every package, 139). USPS DIM → still requires billed volume over 1,728 in³. Zone-level UPS vs FedEx rate fights belong on which carrier bills more.
Worked example: Medium carton 16 × 12 × 10 in, 5 lb
Whole inches, no extra ceiling. Volume 1,920 in³. 1,920 ÷ 139 = 13.81, ceil 14 lb DIM vs 5 lb actual → billable 14 lb on the FedEx model. Drop height to 9 in (1,728 in³) and DIM becomes ceil(12.43) = 13 lb. That one-inch height cut is the near-miss: still DIM-billed, but a pound lighter. USPS on the same box would also DIM (over 1,728); UPS Daily matches this 14 lb.
What these numbers are not
Not a FedEx account rate, not fuel, not AHS. Not a certified extract from a 2026 FedEx Rate Guide PDF. Treat the result as the same DimMath estimate the master tool already shows on the FedEx row.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the FedEx DIM divisor in 2026?
Modeled as 139 with ceiling rounding. Not independently verified from a 2026 FedEx Rate Guide PDF.
Does FedEx use dim weight on small packages?
The engine always compares DIM to actual. A Ground-only volume skip is not in config — needs verification.
How does FedEx round dimensions?
Stand-in method: ceil each inch, then ceil(volume ÷ 139). Confirm on your FedEx invoice until the PDF is logged.
Can I negotiate my divisor with FedEx?
Yes on some accounts. This calculator will not show a custom divisor. Use the invoice, then compare all carriers.
